I’ve been Blogging about my favorite television show House so I decided to do a little research and found these articles. I choose these articles because they closely capture my interest in the television show House M.D.. Judge David Johnson’s review of the television show House M.D was a positive review on the show despite the fact he didn’t care for the television station that airs the show. He claims most of the excitement and energy comes from the acting skills of Hugh Laurie which play’s the role of House on the show. Jaymz Article was on the differences and similarities between the medical dramas (House MD) and (Greys Anatomy). In this review of the shows Jaymz talks about how the realistic situations mixed with great acting adds for an addicting series. In conclusion Jaymz believes the acting in more mysterious yet realistic situations by Hugh Laurie helps the show House MD surpass the popularity of the show Greys Anatomy Jaymz quotes “I've never really been into medical shows unless its a "CSI" or "Without a Trace" drama. After reading all the articles and doing research I have concluded that most of the television show critics opinion’s doesn’t seem to differ much from my own. I believe that the Medical/Mystery drama mixed with the acting skills of Hugh Laurie is what makes the show as captivating as it is. So all in all House is a really great show and other people seem to think so to.

Profiling

The diverse actor Hugh Laurie, although born in Oxford, England, has become an award winning American icon. On House, Laurie plays the doctor “as cantankerous and antisocial.” He also uses an American accent, which illustrates his versatility. He is constantly changing roles, from his uptight sarcastic Gregory House, to comedic British television shows, to lending his voice to characters in animated series and movies. This makes Hugh a well known actor in England as well as America. Not only is he a versatile actor, but he is musically talented: he plays the piano, guitar, harmonica. He has also played these instruments on House (Hugh Laurie).

While recovering from infectious mononucleosis Hugh became involved in a comedy review group which led to his acting career. Hugh recorded the audition tape for the show House in a bathroom of a motel room. His American accent was so convincing that the producer was unaware that he was English. How ironic that Hugh plays the role of an American Medical Doctor on the show House and his dad Ran Laurie is an actual Medical Doctor in England.

Hugh learned to drive a motorcycle at the age of sixteen; his father gave him his first motorcycle as a gift. Motorcycle riding has become a passion for Hugh. Hugh also gets to enjoy riding a motorcycle on the television show House. He Quotes “I travel to work on my motorcycle, so it's jeans, boots and a brown Aero leather jacket that weighs as much as I do. If it were black, it would seem like I've got a [Marlon Brando] idea going on, which I don't.” On and off the show his choice of motorcycles seems to be the Triumph. This also reflects on his character on the show.

From my past Blog entry’s my focus on the show was the comical actor who play’s House so this is why I choose to profile on Hugh Laurie. As you can tell from my profile House (Hugh Laurie) is a very unique actor with various talents. I would have to say Hugh is a great actor and he plays a great role. I don’t think there could be any one better to act the role in House as he does.
